1. What is gROW?
gROW is the online learning environment of the Development Expertise Centre (Human Resources Division) where you can get started with your own (career) development. On gROW you can search for courses that are interesting for you, sign up for workshops, follow e-learnings, read articles and watch videos.

2. How do I get into gROW?
gROW is accessible to all employees of Radboud University. You can log in via https://ontwikkeling.ru.nl. You will then be taken to a page of Surfconext where you select Radboud University and log in with your u-number and password.

3. How can I find something in gROW?
In gROW you can search in different ways.

Via the Learning tab: in your home screen, under the Learning tab, you will find the total learning offer.
Via the search window: in the search window you can search specifically on a topic that is interesting to you.
Via channels: on the left side of the screen, you will find offer grouped into 'channels'. You can subscribe to channels, which means that you will receive a notification as soon as an item has been added to the relevant channel.
Tip: take a look at the 'Help Center' channel for detailed instructions on how to work with gROW.

4. In gROW, the terms 'course' and 'event' are used. What's the difference?
A course is a collection of different parts. These can be: articles, e-learning modules, videos and events.
An event is an online or physical meeting such as a workshop or training. This can be part of a course but also a stand-alone learning activity.

5. What does it mean to enroll in a course?
When you register for a course, you get access to the different parts that make up the course. For example, you can now read articles, follow e-learnings and register for an event. You are not 'stuck' to a meeting and you can always unsubscribe or unsubscribe again. Information about tracked parts will remain available to you, even after deregistration.

PLEASE NOTE: by registering for a course you are not automatically registered for an event.

6. How do I register for an event?
For an event as part of a course, you must first register for this course. You will then see: 'This course has an Event for which you have to register'. Now you can register for an event. You will receive a confirmation email from CAPP in your RU mailbox.

Not all events are linked to a course as part of it. You can find this by checking 'Events' in the 'Learn' tab. Now you will see all the 'separate' events you can register for, provided you meet the target group requirements stated in the event. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from CAPP in your RU mailbox.

7. How do I unsubscribe from an event?
It is possible to unsubscribe from an event as long as the final deregistration date has not passed. To unsubscribe, go to the 'events' tab in gROW, then select 'my events' and unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation of this deregistration by email from CAPP in your RU mailbox.

8. I want to cancel an event but the unregistration period has expired
When the final deregistration date has passed, you must contact the ExpO training office via [email protected]. You may be charged for late unenrollment or if you've been absent without notice.
